One Room Challenge: Wk.6

Welp! Week 6 of the @oneroomchallenge was nothing short of a real challenge! Mother Nature decided to whip up some 35 mph wind gusts and sustained winds of 22 mph along with buckets of rain and cold temps to keep things interesting. And? I was sick with a cold. Not a fun week but managed to get things done.

Finally demoed the screen porch wall. So. Many. Nails. Short ones. Long ones. Rusted ones. Big ones. Small ones. It was insane! Thank goodness my daughter helped me with the door header because it would not budge!

She also grabbed a brush and finished painting the first coat on the ceiling and together we did the first coat on the walls. The vision is really starting to take shape. So exciting!

We hit @homedepot again. What a surprise! This time for Screen Tight’s porch screening system components, screen door and hardware. Also picked up that “all-important miscellaneous” stuff again! Everyone needs candy canes that light up and 3D Christmas Specs right???

And the framed prints came in too! Love, love, love them!

So, here’s what’s planned for Week 7 … assuming better weather.
Frame out screen porch wall.
Install screen door & hardware.
2nd coat ceiling and walls. Prep then 1st & 2nd coat trim, screen door & framing.
Prep & paint porch floor.

Still can’t see the finish line but I know it’s not far away. Have to stay focused and keep moving forward.

And wishing all my ORC guest colleagues good luck too. Make sure to check out their amazing projects at www.oneroomchallenge.com. There’s inspiration galore for everyone.
